Is it just me or are our summers getting hotter and hotter? Often we reach for a refreshing beverage to enjoy on a beautiful patio so we can soak up the most of those long days before winter returns. However, Niagara is doing things a little differently. We’re in the heart of wine country after all so why not fuse two summer favourites together – slushies and wine? That’s right, folks – here’s your list of where to stay cool this summer with these wine slushies in Niagara!
Bella Terra Vineyards
Previously known as Pondview Estates, Bella Terra Vineyards is serving up some refreshing beverages this summer. They have two wine slushie flavours available for those who visit.
The first option is made with their Skipping Stone White wine. This light, refreshing blend has notes of peach, pear and grapefruit. Its “spritzy” flavour lends well to the slushie they’ve made which amplifies those citrus notes to create hints of lemon lime. Your other option is their rose slushie that’s crafted with their Skipping Stone Pink. With hints of strawberry, it’ll certainly have you feeling refreshed on a hot summer day.

De Simone Vineyards
If you’re going to head to any winery in Niagara for a wine slushie, it should be De Simone Vineyards. Patrons have not one but three varieties to choose from! Indulge in their tropical rendition made with their Riesling wine, the classic Summer flavour made with their Rosé or try something a little sweeter with their Fuzzy Peach. You might find it hard to pick just one… so if you try all three, we won’t judge!
While it’s located right off of the major artery of Niagara Stone Road, you barely notice the traffic on De Simone Vineyards’ stunning patio. Grab your wine slushie inside and then meander over to one of their picnic tables by the vines. Or, you can settle in at the Muskoka chairs near the propane fireplaces which are perfect for the odd cooler summer day we occasionally have. And if you have a furry friend you’d like to bring along, De Simone Vineyards’ patio is dog friendly!

Megalomaniac Wines
If you’re a fan of frosé all-day then you’ll want to plan a stop at Megalomaniac Wines. Made with their Homegrown Rose, this icy beverage is a dynamic blend of their Riesling and Baco Noir vintages. You’ll be tickled pink as Megalomaniac Wines is a certified sustainable wine grower in Ontario meaning they’re good to both the land and the community – how can that not make their wines taste better?
Since you’re making the trip out to Megalomaniac, why not pair your frosé with a meal? Their all-weather patio has a stunning view of the vineyard as you overlook the bench of the Niagara Escarpment. Another perk – they offer brunch Wednesday through Sunday. I don’t know about you, but I’m a fan since I’ll brunch any day that ends in y!

Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery
Hop on over to Ravine Vineyard’s retail tasting patio for their frozen wine slushie. Beat the scorching summer heat with their frosé made with their 2022 Rosé. Made with 100% Gamay Noir, this Rosé starts off sleek and soft but transforms into a dry finish that will be satisfying on the hottest of days – especially in frozen form!
Bask in the sunshine as you sip on your frosé behind the Woodruff House. It’s not uncommon for Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery to have live music so settle in for a few hours of fun. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself snacking on one of their made-to-order Four Mile Pizzas!

Reif Estate Winery
This list of wine slushies in Niagara would not be complete without at least one made from ice wine and you’ll find it at Reif Estate Winery! With a rich history of producing ice wine for almost 40 years, they have enjoyed international recognition for their vintages. They’ve received over 100 Gold Awards since they began crafting ice wine in 1984 so you really can’t go wrong!
However, what’s really unique is Reif Estate Winery’s wine slushie made with Vinea. A premium grape-based liqueur, Vinea is crafted in small batches using cabernet sauvignon grapes and, of course, the winery’s secret ingredients. You’ll notice hints of blackberry, cherry, red licorice and strawberry, making this a one-of-a-kind beverage that’s not to be missed.

You’ll taste notes of cherry, grapefruit and summer melon in this mix of Gamay, Merlot and Syrah with a touch of Pinot Noir. This one’s certainly a crowd pleaser!
When you visit, make sure to spend some time exploring the winery. Trius really is an experience with so many fun photo opportunities and great energy overall. It makes for the perfect girl’s day destination!

More Wine Slushies in Niagara
While the Ice House Winery was the original destination for wine slushies in Niagara, they have unfortunately closed their doors. As you can see though, a number of Niagara wineries have taken the torch so we can enjoy the refreshing adult beverages!
Mind you, there always has to be one that stands out amongst the crowd. Back 10 Cellars decided to be a little different from these other wineries in Niagara with a Smitten Spritz float. What’s that exactly? Take Niagara’s version of an Aperol Spritz, make it a gelato, and then top it with more bubbling goodness. Sounds like the perfect beverage for an unforgettable summer in Niagara!
Of course, if you know of any other wineries I may have missed that are doing wine slushies in Niagara or something similar, please let me know in a comment below and I’d be happy to add them to this list! Now, who’s ready to enjoy a cool bevvy? You’ll want to hurry though as these Niagara wine slushies are only around for the summer!
