Where to Find the Best Pizza in Barrie

PIE Wood Fired Pizza Joint

Best known as the first place to bring wood oven pizza to Barrie, PIE is one of the most popular spots to grab a slice. In addition to their fantastic wood fired pizza, locals like myself and visitors love their location.

PIE has one of the best waterfront patios in Barrie! Located across from Centennial Beach, one of Barrie’s top attractions, the views of Kempenfelt Bay are stellar.

Along with a large patio, PIE has a large indoor dining room and sells their famous pizzas that you can make at home. But if you’re looking for takeout, be sure to check out their specials.

A great takeout special is their ‘The Almost Essential Pack.’ It includes two pizzas and your choice of beer or wine for $63!

The PIE menu features a variety of fun and unique pizzas as well as other food items. Many of the pizzas have fun names too like Hind Leg, Muskoka Pie, Cluck Norris, Mystic North and Tsunami.

My favourite pizza from PIE Wood Fired Pizza Joint is the Beauty Pie. But one of their most popular pizzas is their Hedge Hog, which is great if you like spicy. And if you’re looking for appetizers or sharables, I recommend the wings and salty balls!

Their Sicilian gourmet pizzas have thin crust, zesty tomato sauce as well as fresh herbs. But the winning ingredient is Jolina Cheese! Jolina Cheese is a high-quality mozzarella that packs in the flavour!

They have over a dozen pizzas on their menu. A few solid options include the Mexicano, Veggie Veneto and Milano. However, you can also opt for one of their build your own pizzas. Along with picking out the toppings, you get to choose the dough and sauce.

Nestled in the Cedar Pointe Business Park is a one stop shop for all things Italian! Paezano’s Pizza features an extensive menu that includes pizza, pasta, and more.

I usually order one of their classic pizzas, the deluxe. The sauce to cheese to toppings ratio is perfect! When it comes to dough, their homemade dough packs the perfect mix of fluffy edges and flavour.

Paezano’s Pizza has been a Barrie pizza staple for over 15 years. They’ve won numerous awards, including Barrie’s best pizza.

In addition to being a pizza joint, its also a marketplace with an assortment of Italian classics like bags of cookies, jars of Nutella, as well as pastas and sauces.

This place is popular for takeout. But if you want to dine in, there is a few tables at the back of the store. I loved that they also served espresso and pastries, which is the perfect way to end a meal of pizza.

Using fresh and quality toppings, like their famous pepperonis, they craft some of the most unique pizzas in Barrie. You’ll find everything from pickles to honey on their pizzas.

My first Jimmy Chews pizza was their My Honey’s Hot one. The pizza is topped with double fennel spicy sausage that’s house made, red onion, mozzarella, jalapeno and local honey. It’s the perfect blend of spicy and sweet.

One of the key aspects that makes their pizza stand out is the dough. They use 3-day cold risen dough that results in the fluffiest crust around!

Plus, who can resist ordering their pizzas with fun names like Sgt. Peppers, Killer Diller and Porky Pine!

In addition to pizza, a few great menu items to add to your order should be their awesome Caesar salad and wings.

Fuda Italian Bakery

One of the beloved places to eat in Barrie is Fuda Italian Bakery. This family-owned shop and restaurant has been a staple for decades.

Fuda Italian Bakery is best known for their baked goods, but it also has a massive marketplace selling Italian groceries as well as prepared meals. Along with being one of the best bakeries in Barrie, they also have a hot table.

With a collection of tables, you can dine in and enjoy one of their mouth-watering dishes. A few stand outs menu items include chicken parmesan and lasagna.

Barnstormers Brewing & Distilling Co. Brewpub Restaurant

Along with being one of the best breweries in Barrie, Barnstormers also makes a fantastic pizza! Barnstormers Brewpub Restaurant is the perfect spot to go for dinner and drinks.

As soon as I walked in, I loved the vibe! Twinkle lights are strung from the ceiling and the walls are covered with quirky things like license plates and photos of old planes.

All the plane memorabilia are fitting since the name Barnstormers, refers to pilots that perform stunts on airplanes.

The Barnstormers menu is full of tasty items that range from pasta to pizza and handhelds. I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve eaten here, but have to say the pizza stands out!

One of the reasons the pizza at Barnstormers stands out is because of their dough. They use beer mash in their pizza dough that gives a distinct and flavourful taste!

My favourite pizza is the Spicy Flying Pig Pizza. Using house pizza sauce, it’s topped with goat cheese, mozzarella, Italian sausage, green olives and hot banana peppers.

Another popular pizza is the B1. This one is also topped with house pizza sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage, and green olives. But other toppings include crumbled bacon, salami, and mushrooms.
