Lazy Tulip Café
Even after their move from downtown to Bradford Street, the Lazy Tulip Café is still one of the most popular cafes in Barrie! The Lazy Tulip is all about using fresh local ingredients and providing conscious food.
The café can be found at the side of the Midway Diner, under the red awning on the John Street side. Sadly, they are no longer available for dine in. But they still serve up amazing breakfast and lunches for takeout and delivery. Plus, a cup of their coffee is always a win!

The Wired Owl Coffee Company
One of the best and newest Barrie coffee shops is The Wired Owl Coffee Company! Time has seen a lot of changes and coffee shops in this location but us locals hope this one is here to stay! Formerly the Barrie Bean Counter, this long narrow space is right next door to Headquarters Hair Salon. The team behind the hair salon decided to buy the space and have reimagined the space into a cozy and inclusive hot spot!
You’ll be greeted by warm and friendly staff, plenty of plants, and the sweet aroma of goodness! The owners have strong Greek and Portuguese backgrounds and you’ll see it in the incredible treats. One of their best sellers is their Portuguese custard tarts. However, they specialize in Greek pastries too and their Greek cookies are a MUST!

If you’re strictly looking for a caffeinated beverage then you’ll find a long list of classics and new concoctions at The Vegan Pantry in Barrie. For something different without the caffeine try their Pink Milk Latte. It’s made with beetroot crystals, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, and oat milk. And it really is pink!
Along with all of their coffee and drink options, they serve a large array of baked goods and sweet treats. Everything is vegan, gluten free, and refined sugar free. While new treats are always popping up, a few favourites are their Hello Dolly’s, Nanaimo Bars, and Snickers Bars. Plus, during the holidays they make a host of holiday classics that are vegan.
