Owner and chef, Troy Salazar, has been a chef for over 20 years and wanted to bring something new to the food truck table. And that he did with his Around the World in 80 Tacos food truck.

You can’t miss this bright blue truck whether he’s parked at his regular spot or making a special appearance down on Barrie’s lakeshore. The tacos from Around the World in 80 Tacos are not your Taco Bell variety. These are gourmet tacos made with fresh ingredients. A few favourites to consider are the Greek Tacos with grilled chicken, feta, tomatoes and more or the Falafel with falafel bites, house-made hummus and more. A staple of Barrie food trucks for over 10 years is Hannahman’s Roadside BBQ. For years it was over on Hart Drive but in 2019 she moved to a new location on Donald Street on the grounds of the Barrie Motel. Hannahman’s Roadside BBQ is open year round and offers a range of great menu items from onion rings to her mouth-watering homemade burgers.

Her homemade burgers are made fresh daily and made from meat from a local butcher. Beyond the burgers you’ll find breakfast sandwiches, poutines with real cheese curds and so much more. No matter what you get, I highly recommend you try the Gardillic sauce that’s the best for dipping your fries and anything you get! In the summer you’ll find a few picnic benches to park yourself at and enjoy your meal.

Whether you’re looking for great vegetarian food in Barrie or just something new to try then you’ll love Foodiez! After graduating from Georgian College in 2020 Sachin Sharma decided to do something different and opened up a food truck. Foodiez brings incredible Indian street food to the Barrie food truck scene.

There are so many great things on the menu at Foodiez and many of which when bought together make for a fun tapas meal with friends or family. A few must try menu items include cheese fried moms, noodle spring rolls and their Noodle Burger that comes with a crunchy potato patty and topped with noodles, tomato, onion and sauces. Located in a church parking lot off of St. Vincent Street, Foodiez now has a summer patio with umbrella’s and picnic tables for the perfect al fresco food truck experience.

They have the classics like fries, fish and chips and chicken burgers. But you’ll find a bunch of fun options you might not see elsewhere.

The Potato Patio has option for vegetarians and those with a gluten intolerance. Try their delicious black bean chipotle veggie burgers and enjoy their gluten free gravy on your fries. Calling all poutine fans! You have to try the incredible poutines at The Snack Shack. The original location in Angus seem to create a cult following and now there’s a location in Barrie. This guy is serious about poutines and loves creating new ones. Which is one of the main reasons you have to keep visiting because the menu is constantly changing.

The Snack Shack specializes in poutines and while you can get a traditional one you’ll want to try one of his crazy creations. All the cheese curds used are the real deal and straight from Quebec. Even their gravy is made in Montreal! Some of the favourites include the Angry Pickle Poutine and Firetruck Poutine that comes with homemade blue cheese sauce and sprinkled with green onions and a pepperoncini pepper.
